Basic Motion in Flash
Step 1 Create a new Symbol by going to Insert > New Symbol (hot key command+f8)

Step 2 Name your symbol and make the symbol into a graphic then hit ok.

Step 3 Create your object by using one of the available tools on your tool bar.
Step 4 Once you have your object made go back to your scene. Once your back into your scene 1 click and drag the symbol you just made from your library onto your stage. That should put that object into layer one, or whatever layer you have selected.

Step 5 Now go up to your time line where your layers are and right click on a frame that is further down on the time line. This frame has to be along the same layer that you have inserted the graphic into. And after you right click go to insert key frame.

Step 6 Now click on the first key frame that the symbol is in and place it in the starting point of your animation. Then click on the new key frame that you made and then click on the symbol and move it to its finishing point of the animation.
Step 7 Now create a motion tween by either right clicking between the 2 key frames and then create key frame, or you can click once between the 2 key frames and then go to the properties pallet and select motion in the tween drop down menu. Then you can hit enter to see your animation work.

Step 8 Now just go to File > Export > Export Movie
